The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has introduced a new scheme under which money changers will receive a reward of the same amount of dollars as they deposit in the bank. The money has to be added to the interbank market and they will get one rupee for every US dollar added. Earlier, exchange companies were required to add at least 15% of remittances to the interbank market.
Amended the rules regarding incoming shipments. Now the exchange companies will add 100% of the remittances received in the form of incoming remittances to the interbank market on the same day in US dollars. The scheme will improve the fluidity of exchange in the interbank market.
